Opening the box from KRAVE Jerky was pure excitement!
Good quality, gluten-free dried meat is not something you can find at most convenient stores when traveling on the road.
KRAVE Jerky only contains real ingredients: no preservatives or things you and your body don’t recognize as food! The soy sauce in the meat is a gluten-free fermented soy sauce.
I received the sampler pack, which includes one of each of their 8 jerky varieties. Not only do they make beef jerky, but also pork and turkey jerkies.
First off; the packaging.
KRAVE Jerky has beautiful bright colored packaging for their quality products. I love the typography designs, specifically created for the flavorful goodness they contain. Even the postcard enclosed is very interesting! Also about the packaging, they are resealable, which I absolutely love!
I tried the jerky that is made from pork first; Black Cherry Barbecue and Grilled Sweet Teriyaki.
This is the first time trying dried pork. I expected it to be similar to bacon. The meat was actually very tender; not brittle or dry at all.
I loved that the Black Cherry Barbecue was the jerky with the least amount of sugar with 5 grams per ounce. The sweetness of the fruit and evaporated cane syrup is balanced well; not too overpowering. The Grilled Sweet Teriyaki tastes like Christmas Ham! It is a great low calorie protein snack with only 70 calories and 7 grams of protein in one ounce.
I have had turkey jerky before, but never had any as flavorful as the KRAVE Jerky ones. Basil Citrus & Lemon Garlic are amazing flavor combinations. Basil always reminds me of pesto so the Basil Citrus flavor seemed like it would be good added to pizza or Italian dish.
I love how simple and real the ingredients list are in these snacks, you can even see the flavor on each piece!
I am a big fan of garlic so I loved the Lemon Garlic Turkey Jerky. Both of these flavors has 80 calories, 10 grams of sugar and 9 grams of protein per ounce. The sugar comes from apples, cane and honey.
KRAVE Jerky has 4 different flavors for the beef varieties.
Garlic Chili Pepper Beef KRAVE Jerky is a spice lover’s dream! This one was the highest on the KRAVE Spice-o-meter on the back.
Chili Lime is a wonderful blend of tangy with zing. I love how these beef jerky pieces are like mini-steaks! These jerkies are so tender and fresh.
The Pineapple Orange was on the sweeter side of the spectrum and only 6 grams of sugar per ounce. Real pineapple and orange juice was used along with cane and molasses to give a rich, smoky sweet flavor. Sweet Chipotle is just as smoky but even more so with the chipotle and paprika to spice it up!
Most Beef Jerkies are like dry little nuggets of unnatural, ingredient-smothered meats; not KRAVE Jerky. Each piece is it’s own unique shape, simple flavors, no nitrates, nitrites or extra sodium; only the necessary food ingredients are used in making quality dried meats. The jerky comes in 3.25oz bags, 26 ounces of meat in a sampler box.
